Sprain and strain is a form of injury to the musculoskeletal system. Although these are two words that can be exchanged in its use, sprain and strains are two different types of injury.
Is sprain?Sprain is a form of stretching or kerobekan injury on ligament (tissue that connects bone to bone) or the joint capsule, which provide joint stability. Severe damage to the ligament or joint capsule can cause instability in the joints. Symptoms may include pain, inflammation, and in some cases, the inability to move limbs. Sprain occurs when the joints are forced beyond the scope of normal joint motion, such as circular or rotating the ankle. What is the strain?Strain is a form of stretching or kerobekan injury on musculoskeletal tendinous structures (muscles and tendons). Acute strain on the musculoskeletal structures occur in tendinous junction between muscle and tendon. Strains occur when muscles contract suddenly reached out and, like the runner or jumper. This type of injury is often seen in runners who experience strain on hamstringnya. Several times the injury occurs suddenly when the runners dalammlangkah full. Symptoms of an acute muscle strain can be a pain, muscle spasms, loss of strength, and limited joint range of motion. Chronic Strains are injuries that occur on a regular basis because of overuse or repetitive tekakan, resulting in tendonitis (inflammation of the tendon). For example, tennis players can get tendonitis in his shoulder as a result of continuous pressure from the service repeatedly.Severity of the sprain and strainTherapist categorize sprain and strain based on the severity of injury. The degree of I (mild) form of some light stretching or kerobekan in muscles or ligaments. Degree II (medium) in the form of partial kerobekan but still connects. Degree III (severe) form of full kerobekan in the muscles and ligaments, resulting in joint instability.
TherapyInjury degrees I usually recover quickly with the provision of rest, ice, compression and elevation (RICE). Therapeutic exercise can help restore strength and flexibility. Injury same degree II treatment only added to the immobilization of the injured area. And degree III is usually carried out immobilization and possibly surgery fatherly restore function. The key to recovery is an early evaluation by a medical professional. Once the injury has been determined, a treatment plan be developed cans. With proper care, most sprains and strains will from heal without long-term side effects. The key to healing is an early evaluation by a medical professional.
